What is String Art?

On my first (ever) entry, I want to share what String Art is because whenever I mention this, people seem to have no clue of what I’m talking about.

Can’t blame them though because I myself experienced the same until I came across this type of art on Pinterest.

Caught my attention because it’s unique and challenging at the same time. But before I discuss this further, allow me to share what this is.

What is String Art?

A way to arrange colored threads to form a specific geometric design, yup, read that right, this has something to do with Math that started in the 60’s and 70’s.

It practices precision, attention to details, and ability to estimate the measurement of the threads to be used in a project.

It involves lines, curves, and computations. So basically, it revolves around Mathematics back in the day.

But at present, people are starting to see more of it as an ART, something that they can create or buy as home decor, room decor, gift, or even collection rather than a homework or experiment being done in Math class.

Glad I saw it this way, it was love at first sight.

So now that I have been creating these for quite some time, how do I define it?

My definition?

“It is a customized and personalized art that uses wood, nails, and a wide variety of colored threads that are carefully made to bring out the client’s preferred pattern.”

I will leave it right here for now and let the photos do the talking.
